YOSEGI:

  • Yosegi Handle: Four pieces of solid Maple and Walnut wood precision carved & fused together using a traditional technique called Yosegi-zaiku.
  • Sankaku Ferrule: The ferrule is carefully pressed 3 times to achieve the brush's unique triangular shape.
  • Maki-e: the Yosegi handle features Japanese calligraphy and seal with intricate detail and texture that's only achievable using a traditional technique called Maki-e.
  • 24K: Gold-Plated Ferrule

Shodō 05 is crafted using a first-of-its-kind technique inspired from traditional Japanese calligraphy.

Artisans carefully alternate 10,000+ long and short fibres to create micro-layers along the tip of the brush that gives your makeup a soft, diffused & buildable finish.

Pending community feedback on these brushes, we plan on transitioning more of our existing brushes into the new shodō platform in the future.
